Farm Assistant required now - Balfour Northern Southland

We are currently seeking a farm assistant to help us look after 640 high producing x-bred cows through a 54 bail De-laval rotary shed with ACR's and in shed feeding system. Our farm is well set up and is supported by 2 run off blocks within 10km and located near Balfour in Northern Southland. The farm is operated by an award winning couple and you will work along side them daily and their very skilled Filipino 2ic, so someone who is willing to work within a team dynamic is a must! The roster is a 11/3 and on and off farm learning is actively supported here. There is a tidy 1 bedroom unit available to the right person.

What are we looking for in return?
- You must hold a valid NZ work visa and already reside within NZ - A positive attitude and a desire to be a dairy farmer
- You must be able to provide us with a CV and 2 references that will back up your work history
- Some experience here is a bonus as there is elements of sole charge within the shed
- Ability to fill in an application form within 48 hours and return to us if you are interested to apply.

Herd Manager required - Merrivale, Western Southland

We are looking for a driven individual to come and join our small team to help us milk 500 cows and look after 250 other stock on our farm located 15 minutes from Otautau. 42 ASHB shed, 4 bed accommodation. The farm is located on relatively challenging hilly terrain so will require someone experienced with hills for operating motorbikes and machinery. We need someone who can step into a role of responsibility to help look after the farm on a day to day basis and in the farmers absence. Someone with good pasture skills, ability to identify animal health issues and deal with them accordingly, ability to put up a fence or 2, both permanent and temporary and ultimately a great attitude!

What we will require -

A CV and at least 2 farm related recent references

A minimum restricted licence.

A current valid work Visa and be residing in NZ

No issues with drugs and alcohol, no major past convictions either please.

Senior team member required - Woodlands, Southern Southland

Clover Bell is in the lower South Island, 18km north of Invercargill, Southland. The farm is a 295ha effective milking 850 Kiwi cross cows through a 50 bail rotary with ACR’s and Tru-test drafting system. The land is flat to rolling with pods for the effluent system. Clover Bell has a 72 ha runoff block 16kms away that we winter on, young stock graze and excess feed converted to Baleage/silage, grass based only system with supplements in paddock when required. Cows run in 2 herds according to age, condition score, lames and reds separate. The rosters of 6 on and 2 off occurs all season apart from calving it’s 4 on and 1 off, as well as sleep in after mating. Milking times are morning cups on at 4.30am and afternoon 2pm. Training and Development opportunities are encouraged. Cows and people are extremely important on this farm, we will not tolerate any yelling or swearing in our shed or around our cows or people. Respect and communication are key here. We require someone with specific pasture and people management skills, you will be an important part of a great TEAM. Accommodation will be provided and is of a high standard.
